We are back! We haven't posted for a while, but there is a very, very good reason. Since the end of April, the Monkey family has a new member. Another Spanglish Monkey was born! We are so happy we can't even begin to explain it. The Baby Monkey is really cute and sweet and he seems to be just as good-natured as his brother.
But we are also extremely busy; the Little Monkey wasn't even 17 months when his brother was born. Despite the insane amount of work, we are really glad that they are so close in age, since they will grow up and learn together. That includes their language development. At the moment, they have bonded quite a bit, and despite some occasional crazy toddler behavior (aka the terrible twos have almost begun), the Little Monkey is very caring and loving towards his little brother. From day 1 he understood that the baby was part of the family.
A few weeks after the birth, Abuelita came all the way from Spain to meet the new Monkey and help a little bit with all the craziness. Besides bringing all of her love, games, songs and amazing food, she allowed us to immerse ourselves in Spanish. The Little Monkey's Spanish really took off!
Now, that Abuelita is back home (sniff!) and we have gotten used to the new rhythm of the house, it's time to continue blogging about our everyday adventures. We came back with renewed strength and lots of ideas and projects. Stay tuned! In the mean time... Welcome to the family, Baby Monkey!

¡Hemos vuelto! No hemos publicado en una temporada, pero es por una razón muy muy buena. Desde finales de abril, la familia tiene un nuevo miembro. ¡Ha nacido otro Spanglish Monkey! Somos tan felices que no se puede expresar con palabras. El bebé es super guapo y mono (¡claro!) y parece que va a tener tan buen temperamento como su hermano mayor.
Pero también estamos muuuy liados; el monete no tenía ni 17 meses cuando nació su hermanito. A pesar de que tenemos una cantidad loca de trabajo, estamos muy contentos de que se lleven tan poquito porque van a crecer juntos. Eso también incluye aprender a hablar. De momento, se llevan muy bien y, salvo algún arranque loco por parte del monete (los dos años están a la vuelta de la esquina), es muy cariñoso con el bebé. Desde el primer día, asumió que su hermanito pequeño era parte de la familia.
Unas semanas después del nacimiento, la abuelita vino desde España para conocer al pequeñín y ayudar un poco con el follón. Aparte de traernos su amor, sus juegos, sus canciones y su deliciosa comida, su presencia permitió que nos sumergiéramos en un entorno lingüístico 100% castellano. El monete ha mejorado muchísimo en lo que a castellano se refiere.
Ahora que la abuelita ha vuelto a casa (¡noooo!) y que, poco a poco, nos vamos acostumbrando al nuevo ritmo de la casa, es hora de seguir "blogueando" sobre nuestras aventuras cotidianas. Volvemos con fuerzas renovadas y con montones de ideas y proyectos, ya os iremos contando. Mientras tanto... ¡Bienvenido a la familia bebé!
